It griefs us to say that our season kickstart gig at
@gluren_bij_de_buren in Alphen aan den Rijn has been cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control. Thanks to everyone behind the scenes who put in effort and commitment. ♥️ on to the next show...

Gluren Bij de Buren gave us a slot in their annual culture route, which is held in  several cities. We will be playing our first THREE gigs of the season on 5 September in Alphen aan den Rijn, location Pieter Floriszstraat and there will be lots more entertainment in the vicinity.
Check out the fuill program here.

NH-pop and
PopKanjers in collaboration with Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds awarded us a financial contribution for making a new record. We are planning to record new material in the fall, and we will be trying these tracks out in small venues around that time. Warch this space for more info.

Updates do not come in abundance, we know but YES we are still writing new material and YES we are still planning world domination in 2021.

We are happy to announce that
RTVA is airing our Quarantine Gig we did at P60 last year in May. Air date is next Wednesday, March 3. Watch on Ziggo, KPN/XS4ALL an T-Mobile Thuis or on their live stream.

We also have some other news to share but we'll keep that on the wraps for a later day.

Stay safe!

Happy 2021! We are busy writing new material and we hope to play them live for you all this year. Stay safe and we'll be meeting each other real soon.

After a period of relative silence and of course a summer break, we are proud to announce we have some small seated shows on the way. Also we are busy rehearsing new songs so expect new material to be tested during these gigs and maybe even recorded for your listening pleasure. Goodbye is not forever. Stay safe, and see you real soon.

Due to the corona outbreak, we were so flabbergasted that it took us a month to recuperate and post a message on our website.

Anyway, we are up for an online gig on 9 May, hosted by our good friends at P60. The show will be aired through their Facebook live stream.

And as we write this, Harold has been playing three solo shows from the band's rehearsal space. You can catch Harold on every Tuesday @ 8.30 PM on the KOLBAK Insta page.

Stay safe and we hope to see you all again in the Fall season.

We're adding some shows  to the gig list. First one will be a semi-acoustic gig @ Dok Du Nord in Amsterdam.

And we had a GOOD time @De Nieuwe Anita, Thanks to Olga, Madelon and TreVor, the kick-ass sound engineer, and of course the heards of people who came to see the show.

Going away gig for Dennis. More on facebook.

Yes we know. It's been quiet. But we have been up to a lot.

We finished recording basic tracks and are working on overdubs. Album should be finished before the summer and a tour will be planned accordingly.

We are also temporarily saying goodbye to our drummer Dennis, as he is off to see the world on a bycicle. Be sure to check out his blog
pedalenenverhalen.nl (in Dutch).

In the mean time we will be breaking in a new drummer. We will be posting on that as well soon.

And we're back. Woring on lots of things, one of which is a soundtrack to a book project on the Spanish  Civil War and an acoustic set/recording/photoshoot. Plus we're planning a new album. We'll keep you posted.

Last weekend we played our first gig at the Fascinus in Sassenheim. Thanks to all @ De Grote Prijs van de Bollenstreek, who said about KOLBAK:

"The seasoned gentlemen of indie pop collective KOLBAK [...] engross themselves in their performance. The singer manages to captivate the audience with his enthousiasm and quirky mannerisms. A fine band with good melodic pop rock songs " Read all (in Dutch) here.

KOLBAK EP review by the excellent NoMoreDivision.com blog:

3.6 out of 5 "the songwriting was solid along with the production and delivery. I‘d like to hear some more of his work under the KOLBAK moniker and hope it doesn't take four years to see the light of day."
